Howdy! My name is Abigail Flencher. I am the 16 year old daughter of Aaron and Amanda Flencher of Somerville. In 2010, I began my fair involvement when I participated in the Burleson County Fair Little Miss competition. I practiced my song, constantly striving to get all of the words out just right because I wanted win. The night of the competition, I sang the entire Aggie War Hymn and was beaming when I brought home the crown! I am excited to be a queen contestant, and it would be an honor to be crowned the 2023 fair queen and represent Burleson County Fair once again.
I am honored to represent Somerville FFA and Somerville 4-H, where I serve as the president of both organizations. I have enjoyed showing pigs and commercial heifers at the Burleson County Fair through these organizations since I was 9 years old. My biggest accomplishment with my animals to date was winning Reserve Grand Champion commercial heifers among amazing competition. I am currently a senior at Somerville High School, where I am actively involved in volleyball, softball, and am the drum major in the Yegua Band. This past year, I was recognized as Offensive MVP in both volleyball and softball, as well as receiving the Director’s Award for band. I am currently ranked first in my class, and was recognized as the English III Student of the Year, and was also honored as a Yegua Chief. Along with being class president, I am also a member of FCA, NHS, student council, and a member of First Lutheran Church in Somerville. After high school, I plan to attend Texas A&M University to continue my education. Thank you for supporting the Burleson County Fair!
