Greetings Burleson County!
I am Gabrielle Jackson, the 17-year-old daughter of Marcus and Jessica Jackson Douglas from Somerville. As I step into my senior year, I am excited to share that I will be earning my welding certification and have successfully completed several dual credit college courses. I am proud to be a member of the National Honor Society, a Varsity Cheerleader, and involved with FFA and the Student Ambassadors organization. After graduating high school next year, I look forward to embarking on my next journey—whether that be serving in the United States Army in the medical field or pursuing a college degree in psychology.
I am deeply honored to be sponsored by my long-time 4-H club, Somerville 4-H. This year
marks my 10th year as an exhibitor at the Burleson County Fair, an event I have come to
cherish. The fair has been a fundamental part of my upbringing, instilling in me the values of
hard work, the pursuit of excellence, and even the lesson of keeping chicken shavings out of the house. Throughout my experience, I have gained valuable skills in budgeting, planning,
inventory management, and scheduling.
As I prepare for my final year with the Burleson County Fair, I anticipate a bittersweet week this September. I am truly grateful and excited to announce my decision to run for Fair Queen this year. It would be a tremendous honor to represent an organization that holds a special place in my heart.
